NEGRITA

NEGRITA, where Bailey served as producer and editor, and made screening appearances at the prestigious Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts in New York City, interrogates the cultural prejudice and presumptions surrounding the lives of Afro Latina women in America.  Through family pictures, childhood videos, and frank conversations, NEGRITA uses the director's own personal history to illuminate the larger tapestry of shared experiences throughout the Black and Latino community.

Memphis Majic

Memphis Majic, an award-winning film released in 2019, and Eddie Bailey's directorial debut that appeared on national platforms like Good Morning America, takes a look at the racial-politcs and socio-economics of Memphis through the lens of a 30-year old Memphis-born street dance called Jookin.

The film uniquely combines the city's history and the modern-day Jookin dance to expound on the conditions of the city's present. Through its exploration of Memphis Jookin's resilience, Memphis Majic invites viewers to contemplate in illuminating the city's troubled history, and aims to rediscover one of America's most prominent cities.
